The Benedict College volleyball team looks to snap its losing streak with a match against rival Claflin on Wednesday. The match will be played at Eau Claire High School (4500 Monticello Road). First serve is 6 p.m.
Benedict is coming off a 3-1 loss to Albany State on Sunday, which dropped the Lady Tigers to fourth place in the SIAC East race. Claflin is currently third in the East with a 7-2 conference record, 10-4 overall.
Benedict is 8-5 overall and 6-3 in the SIAC after back-to-back losses to Albany State, as well as a dropping an exhibition match to Spartanburg Methodist.
The NCAA released another national volleyball statistic report for the 2012 season and Benedict regained the top spot in aces per set. Claflin, who comes to town on Wednesday, dropped to second.
Three players also rank in the top 20 for aces per set. Individually,
Alexis Flagler ranks fifth with 0.85 aces per set,
Je'Nae Saunders ranks eighth with 0.67 aces per set and
Ashley Jackson ranks 16
th with 0.63 aces per set.
