ALBANY, Ga. – Benedict College recorded 17 aces and defeated Miles College 3-0 in the first round of the SIAC Volleyball Championship on Wednesday.

The Lady Tigers won 25-9, 25-4, 25-15 and advanced to a 4 p.m. match against Claflin University. Claflin had a first-round bye.

LaTayvia Mack had 10 kills to lead the Lady Tigers, while Ashley Jackson had 22 assists. Je'Nae Saunders had five service aces, while Terea Sweeting and Liyah Davis each had four service aces.

Benedict hit .463 for the match, while Miles hit -.120.
