	COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's basketball team put together one of its best all-around performances of the season to take a 65-46 victory over Tuskegee University on Thursday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
	
	Brittany Jackson scored a season-high 16 points and had a career-high 17 rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers. 
Santera Grooms added 12 points, while 
Cierra Moore and 
Monique Weathers added 11 points each.
	
	Benedict improves to 14-6 overall and 12-5 in the SIAC. Tuskegee falls to 15-6 overall and 12-5 in the SIAC.
	
	The Lady Tigers' solid defensive effort held Tuskegee, the SIAC's second-best field-goal shooting team, to just 27 percent shooting (15-of-55). Benedict also out-rebounded the bigger Golden Tigerettes team 50-31.
	
	Benedict avenged a 16-point loss at Tuskegee earlier this season.
	
	Benedict broke away from a 20-20 tie in the first half with back-to-back 3-pointers by Grooms followed by a layup by 
Chelsey Peterson. The Lady Tigers took a 34-23 lead into the locker room.
	
	Benedict kept the pressure going in the second half, building the lead to as much as 24 points when LaTeia Brailey hit a 3-pointer for a 54-30 lead with 10:41 left to play.
	
	Alondra Rivers led Tuskegee with 16 points.
	
	Benedict closes out its five-game homestand on Saturday against SIAC leader Stillman. Gametime is 1 p.m.
