Tuskegee Rallies Past Lady Tigers, 61-53

Box Score TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers saw a 14-point second-half lead disappear as Tuskegee rallied to take a 61-53 victory on Thursday night in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.

After Benedict took a 34-25 lead at the half, the Lady Tigers built the lead to 45-31 on a 3-pointer by Lateia Brailey with 15:47 left to play. But the Lady Golden Tigers scored the next 16 points to take a 47-45 lead. Benedict tied the game on a pair of free throws by Brittany Jackson.

A layup by London Richard cut the Tuskegee lead to 53-51 with 2:50 left to play, but the Lady Golden Tigers scored the next six points as Benedict had a turnover and missed three shots. Alexus Jones hit a layup with 29 seconds left and Tuskegee wrapped up the game with a pair of free throws for the final 61-53 score.

Jackson led the Lady Tigers with 14 points and 10 rebounds. London Richardson added nine points.

Benedict fell to 7-11 overall and 4-2 in the SIAC. Tuskegee improved to 9-6 overall and 6-0 in the SIAC. Kajuanna Rivers led Tuskegee with 13 points.

Benedict returns home to face Albany State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
