Stillman Tops Lady Tigers, 67-59

Box Score TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers saw a 13-point second-half lead disappear as Stillman College rallied to take a 67-59 victory in their SIAC opener on Thursday night.

Benedict led 28-21 at the half, and built the lead to as much as 40-27 on a layup by Brittany Jackson. Jackson led the Lady Tigers with a season-high 17 points.

But Stillman stormed back to take the lead at 45-44 with 11:10 left in the game on a layup by Floresa Wilson. A jumper by Jackson gave Benedict the lead back, 46-45, but Stillman took the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Andrea Moore, which ignited a 12-1 run.

Benedict cut the lead to four points, 63-59, with 1:32 left to play, but Stillman was able to seal the game at the free-throw line.

Alexus Jones added 12 points for Benedict, while London Richardson added 10. Angel Mitchell led Stillman with 23 points.

Benedict drops to 3-10 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC. Stillman improved to 5-4 overall, 1-0 in the SIAC.
