FAIRFIELD, Ala. – The Benedict College volleyball team opened the 2013 volleyball season with a 3-0 victory over Miles on Friday.

Benedict won 25-17, 25-16, 25-19. The Lady Tigers recorded 19 service aces in the win. Ashley Jackson had 10 service aces, to go along with 11 assists.

Lorena Leao had four kills, seven aces and a team-best six digs. Terae Sweeting had a team-best six kills. Asia Baily had four blocks.

Benedict, now 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the SIAC, will play its home opener on Thursday against Paine at 6 p.m.
