ATLANTA – The Benedict College volleyball team concluded the 2016 season with a 3-0 loss to Clark Atlanta on Friday.
Clark Atlanta won the match 25-21, 25-18, 25-21 to improve to 14-13 overall, 13-5 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 15-13 overall and 10-7 in the SIAC.
Benedict had an 18-15 lead in the first set, but Clark Atlanta rallied to take the set 25-21. Benedict trailed 22-17 in the third set, but scored the next four points to close the gap before Clark Atlanta closed out the set with three of the final four points.
Benedict hit just .060 for the match.
Aaliyah Lawson led the Lady Tigers with eight kills.
V'Aira Harris had six kills with a team-high 11 digs.
Brianne McMillian had 20 assists.
Benedict will travel to Birmingham, Ala., for the SIAC Championship tournament, beginning on Wednesday.
