FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers won their fifth straight game with a 74-53 victory over Fort Valley State in a SIAC basketball game on Saturday.
MiKeisha Moore led Benedict with 16 points, while
Simone Roberts added 13 and
Shirvel Luke chipped in 12 points.
Destiny Betts had a double-double with 12 points and game-high 11 rebounds.
Benedict improves to 11-7 overall and 7-1 in the SIAC. Fort Valley State falls to 5-10 overall and 4-3 in the SIAC.
The Lady Tigers had a five-point lead after the first quarter, but then outscored the Lady Wildcats 31-11 in the second quarter to take a 25-point halftime lead.
Benedict held Fort Valley State to 28.8 percent shooting and forced 36 turnovers, scoring 32 points off turnovers.
Benedict is back in action on Monday at Albany State for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
