COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fort Valley State's Nia Bell recorded 28 kills as the Lady Wildcats handed Benedict its fourth straight loss, 3-2, on Thursday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Fort Valley State won the match 25-22, 15-25, 18-25, 27-25, 15-8 to improve to 4-14 overall and 3-8 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 12-13 overall and 5-7 in the SIAC.
Adrionna Washington led the Lady Tigers with 15 kills, matching her season high, as well as a season-high 11 blocks (2 solo, 9 assist blocks).
V'Aira Harris also had a double-double with 14 kills and a season-high 23 digs.
Taylor Stephens and
Kiera Brothers had 10 kills each.
Ashleigh Reeves had 39 assists. Stephens and
Ka'Tia Wright had seven total blocks each as Benedict registered a season-high 18 total team blocks.
Benedict is back in action on Tuesday, taking on Albany State at home at 6 p.m., then takes on Paine on Wednesday at 6:30 for senior night.
