Benedict Names Kentucky State Football Game "Military, Community Appreciation Day"

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College has declared Saturday's final home football game against Kentucky State as "Community and Veteran Appreciation Day," and encourages all military veterans and members of the community to enjoy the final football game of the year with several ticket promotions.

Kickoff is 1 p.m. in Charlie W. Johnson Stadium. The game was a late addition to the schedule.

All active and veteran military members will be admitted free, along with their immediate family, with a military ID. All first responders, including police, fire, EMS and 911 operators will also be admitted free with ID.

All fans who bring in five cans of food, which will be donated to local food banks or needy families, will also receive free admission.

All youth football players, including Pop Warner and Parks & Rec leagues will be admitted free with their team jersey.

Any high school student who has submitted a Benedict application, and brings their high school transcript, will be admitted free. The student's parents and immediate family (brothers, sisters) will also be admitted free.

All current Benedict football season-ticket holders, season pass holders and season tailgate spaces will receive their regular seat/space and regular game-day privileges.

All Benedict students can invite parents, brothers and sisters for free admission. All Benedict faculty and staff will be admitted free with their current ID card.

All other general admission tickets will be reduced to $5. Groups of 20 tickets will be available for $75, and groups of 40 tickets for $150.

Parking will remain $10, but tailgating spaces will be reduced to $25, which includes parking.
