FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Benedict College volleyball team won their sixth consecutive match against Fort Valley State University on Saturday afternoon.
Benedict won the match 25-21, 25-18, 25-10 improving to 17-10 overall and 9-6 in the conference. Fort Valley State falls to 4-14. 2-13 in conference play.
Adrionna Washington led the Lady Tigers with 15 kills and two blocks.
V'Aira Harris added 11 kills and two aces, while
Daija Walton contributed with seven kills, two aces, and three blocks.
Throughout the entire first set, neither team could extend their lead past three points. Following an error on Benedict, which tied the game up at 20-20, the Lady Tigers closed the set out on a 5-1 run to win the set.
In the second set, the score was tied up at 12-12 after a kill by Washington. Benedict would go on a 13-6 run to end the set. In the third and final set, the Lady Tigers proved to be too much for the Wildcats and ran away with the victory.
Benedict will host Livingstone College on Thursday November 7th at 6:30 p.m.
