JACKSON, Tenn. – The Benedict College women's basketball team dropped their fourth straight game, falling to Lane College 87-64 in their SIAC opener on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers led by as much as nine points, 17-8, in the first quarter and had a 20-15 lead heading into the second quarter. Lane outscored Benedict 29-16 in the second quarter to take a 44-36 lead at the half. The Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Tigers 25-13 in the third quarter to take a 20-point lead, 69-49, heading into the fourth quarter.
Mahogany Randall led the Lady Tigers with 22 points.
Shakera Duncan grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Benedict, now 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC, continues its Tennessee road trip with a game at LeMoyne-Owen on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
