SAVANNAH, Ga. – The fifth-ranked Benedict College Tigers will look to keep their unblemished record intact as they travel to Savannah State University for their final road game of the regular season.

Savannah State comes into the contest 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the SIAC, and has lost five in a row, and three of the losses have been by a touchdown or less. Savannah State is coming off a 21-14 loss to Tuskegee last week. They turned the ball over five times in that contest.
Benedict is 8-0 on the season and sports one of the nation's top defenses, ranking first in the nation in total defense (185.6 yards per game), scoring defense (7.1 points per game), and passing yards allowed (115.4 yards per game). Savannah State is second in the SIAC in total defense, allowing opponents 334.1 yards per game. The SSU Tigers also rank second in the SIAC in passing yards allowed, allowing 190.9 yards per game through the air.
Benedict leads the all-time series 7-3, and won last year's matchup 24-6 in Columbia.
After Saturday's contest, Benedict returns home to wrap up the regular season next week against rival Allen University in the South Carolina HBCU Classic.
