JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fourth seed Kentucky State defeated fifth seed Benedict College 3-0 in the opening round of the 2024 Cricket SIAC Men's Volleyball Championship on Thursday morning on the campus of Edward Waters University.
Kentucky State won the match 25-21, 25-20, 25-17 to advance to face top-seed Fort Valley State at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Benedict wraps up the season with a 3-17 record.
The Tigers had just 22 total kills in the match, with
Jomari Jacobs and
Zion Beckford recording six kills each.
Jaiden Romes-Crawley had a double-double with 17 assists and a team-high 14 digs.
Kentucky State finished the match with 43 total kills and a .230 hitting percentage, and served 10 aces.
