PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The Benedict College men's tennis team advanced to the championship match of the 2024 Cricket SIAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championship with a 4-1 victory over Tuskegee on Saturday.
Benedict won the doubles point by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
Divgurjot Singh and
Anesu Kwirirai defeated Keith Moultrie and Symon Brown 6-3 at No. 2 doubles, and
Munache Marume and
Richard Ngwarwi took a 6-4 victory over Teryon Newbold-Hudson and Tyler Ladge at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Singh took a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles over Miles Wilson, while
Anesu Kwirirai rallied to take a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 4 singles over Keith Moultrie.
Munache Marume won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles to clinch the match.
Benedict, now 13-6 overall, advances to Sunday's championship match against top-seed Spring Hill at 1 p.m.
