JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Edward Waters swept Benedict College in a SIAC men's volleyball match on Saturday.
Edward Waters won the match 25-19, 25-16, 25-18 to improve to 9-13 overall and 6-1 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 1-14 overall and 1-6 in the SIAC.
Camron Petillo led Benedict with eight kills.
Jaiden Romes-Crawley had 17 assists and six digs.
Clint Forbes recorded seven digs.
The first set was tied at 16 before Edward Waters scored the next three points. Benedict cut the lead to 21-19, but then Edward Waters closed out the set with the final four points.
Edward Waters used a 9-0 run in the second set to take a 14-7 lead and went on to take the 25-16 victory. Benedict trailed 16-13 in the third set before Edward Waters scored the next four points for a 20-13 lead and went on to take the 25-18 victory and clinch the match.
Benedict will play its first home match in more than a month when the Tigers take on Truett-McConnell at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
