CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Benedict College men's volleyball team picked up their first win of the season, defeating Milligan 3-0 before falling to host Truett-McConnell 3-1 in a tri-match on Saturday.
Benedict took a 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 victory over Milligan as
De'Andrae Taylor recorded nine kills on .667 hitting percentage and recorded a pair of blocks.
Zion Beckford added seven kills.
Kendersley Marcellin recorded 23 assists, and
Cameron Long led the defense with nine digs.
Truett-McConnell took a 25-18, 25-17, 24-26, 25-16 victory in the second match. Beckford had nine kills, while
Jared Brown added six kills. Marcellin recorded 19 assists and had a team-high three blocks. Long had nine digs.
The Tigers, now 1-2 on the season, travel to Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. on Sunday, Feb. 9.
