COLUMBIA, S.C. – Catawba College had three players in double-figure kills and hit .425 to take a 3-0 victory over Benedict College in a non-conference men's volleyball match on Wednesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Catawba won the match 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 to improve to 11-8 overall. Benedict saw its five-match winning streak end, and the Tigers fall to 9-8 overall.
Catawba had 48 total kills and committed 14 errors on 80 total attacks. The Tigers had 24 total kills and committed 14 errors on 62 total attacks for a .161 hitting percentage.
Camron Petillo had seven kills to lead the Tigers.
De'Andrae Taylor and
Hakan Godoy had five kills each.
Kendersley Marcellin had 21 assists and
Cameron Long had eight digs to lead the defense.
The Tigers will travel to play Central State on April 4 and 5.
