COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team blanks Edward Waters 7-0 in a SIAC match on Saturday at the Richland County Tennis Center.
The Lady Tigers opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches.
Valerie Essome and
Tanatswa Musabaeka won 6-2 at No. 1, while
Patricia Wamba and
Dealva Alston won 6-0 at No. 2.
Jordan Tanksley and
Carmen Kpadonou won 6-3 at No. 3.
In singles action, Benedict breezed through all the matches in straight sets. Essome won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1; Wamba won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; Musabaeka won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3; Alston won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4; Kpadonou won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 and Tanksley won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Benedict will travel to Mobile, Ala., to compete in the second SIAC roundup on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
