FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Central State defeated Benedict College 3-1 in the battle for third place at the 2025 Cricket SIAC Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament on Wednesday.
Benedict won the first set 26-24, but then Central State took the next three sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 in a tight contest.
Zion Beckford led the Tigers with 12 kills.
Kendersley Marcellin had 36 assists and
Cameron Long and
Camron Petillo had six digs each.
In the first set, Benedict had a 22-19 lead before the Marauders scored the next four points for a 23-22 lead. After trading points, Benedict closed out the set by scoring the final three points, with two kills from
De'Andrae Taylor.
In the fourth set, Benedict had a 23-22 lead, but the Marauders scored the final three points to win the match.
Benedict wraps up the season with a 12-11 record.
