Tigers Move Up Two Spots In AFCA Poll To 19

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Despite a week off, the Benedict College football team moved up two spots in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II national poll this week.
 
Benedict (2-0) climbed from No. 21 to No. 19 after receiving 206 total points. They trail 18th-ranked West Alabama, making its first appearance in the poll, by four points and have a 44-point lead over 20th-ranked Augustana (S.D.).
 
Benedict is the only SIAC representative in the poll.
 
The Tigers remained at No. 20 in the D2football.com media poll.
 
Benedict will put their national ranking on the line when they travel to take on the 1-1 Fort Valley State Wildcats on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Fort Valley, Ga. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
