ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 22, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Tavion Faulk (Edward Waters), David Makonzo (Benedict), Cameron Watts (Albany State) and Talik Graham (Allen) were recognized.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DAVID MAKONZO, BENEDICT COLLEGE

Makonzo played a significant role in Benedict's 34-33 overtime victory over Fort Valley State. He finished with a team-high six tackles, all solo. He recorded two tackles for loss totaling 12 yards and intercepted a pass in the FVSU end zone on the Wildcats' first possession of the game.
