Jarrod Sanders Jr. joins the staff as defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator. He served last season as a graduate assistant at West Florida, coaching the nickel backs.
He spent the 2022 season at Coffeyville Community College, where he served as recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach, and also spent two years at Hutchinson Community College, where he coached defensive backs.

During the 2023 season at West Florida, he coached the nickels and his position group produced the Gulf Southern Coast Conference freshman of the year. He spent the 2022 season at Coffeyville Community College, working with the defensive backs. He spent the two previous seasons as an assistant coach at Hutchinson Communinty College.
During his first year of coaching, Sanders helped the 2020-21 Blue Dragons win the school’s first NJCAA football national championship after an 8-0 season. Sanders was the assistant to a position group that produced the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Year. During his second season of coaching, Sanders helped the Blue Dragons earn back-to-back Jayhawk Conference titles, finishing the season with a 9-2 record. During his time at Hutchinson, Sanders' position group produced nine Division I players with five of them going to Power Five schools.
Sanders played defensive back at Hutchinson Community College, helping the Blue Dragons win their first Jayhawk Conference championship in 2014. He was a two-year starter in 2014 and 2015. As a freshman, Sanders accounted for 42 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and two pass breakups. As a sophomore, Sanders had 55 total tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. Sanders moved on to Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he was a second-team Lone Star Conference selection.
Sanders is a native of Flomation, Alabama.
