Kevin King joins the Benedict College football staff as the team’s defensive backs coach, special teams coordinator and video coordinator.
Coach King comes to Benedict from Franklin Pierce University, where he coached the secondary and also served as the special teams coordinator.
Prior to that, he spent two seasons at Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
He began his coaching career at Southern University, where he worked with Benedict Head Coach Chennis Berry for three seasons. At Southern, he served as a graduate assistant coach for the defensive backs at Division I Southern University, during which time he coached a quarter of All-Southwestern Athletic Conference selections.
Originally from Jacksonville, Fla., King earned both his bachelor’s (2015) and master’s (2018) degrees from Southern.
