Kevin Saxton Jr. serves as Co-Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for the Benedict Tigers.
Saxton comes to Benedict after serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator at Cuthbertson High School (Waxhaw, NC) for one season. During his one season with Cuthbertson, the Cavaliers made their first playoff appearance since 2019, while winning their way to the Sweet 16. Under Saxton, the Cavalier offense received two All-State selections, six All-County selections and five All-Conference selections. The Cavalier offense recorded 4,154 Yards of offense (1st in Conference) along with 2,550 Yards Passing (1st in Conference) and 1,604 Yards rushing.
Prior to joining Cuthbertson, Saxton spent three seasons at Emory & Henry College, where he served two seasons as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterback coach and one season as the running back coach. As the co-offensive coordinator, the Wasps offense ranked in the top 25 nationally. The Wasps led the ODAC in total offense and scoring offense, and he mentored nine All-ODAC selections. Saxton was assigned recruiting territories of Northern Virginia, Charlotte and South Carolina.
Saxton signed with Appalachian State in 2013, but then transferred to Emory & Henry College, where he became a four-year starter for the Wasps. He finished his playing career as the all-time leader in passing yards and otal offense in school history. Saxton earned an All-ODAC selection, ODAC Freshman of the Year and VaSID Offensive Rookie of the Year. Saxton received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
