Paul Holmes joins the Benedict Collegeg football staff as wide receivers coach.

Holmes served as the wide receiver’s at South Carolina State University for the final season of the legendary Head Coach Buddy “Oliver” Pough career in the 2023 season. They finished the year 5-6 and third place in the MEAC.

Holmes served as the quarterbacks coach during the spring of 2023 for Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils under the new direction of Head Coach Kendrick Wade. Holmes previously served as the defensive backs coach for the Delta Devils for the 2022 season.

Holmes previously coached at Wofford College, where joined the staff in 2019 as offensive quality control and in March of 2020 was promoted to defensive backs coach. He came to Wofford after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Independence Community College in Kansas. He coached the wide receivers and defensive backs and worked as video coordinator. In 2017, the team was 9-2 overall and featured on the Netflix series “Last Chance U.”

During his collegiate coaching career, he has guided 20 NFL players and 38 All-Conference players.

Prior to working in the college ranks, he coached for two seasons at Irmo High School. As the wide receivers and defensive backs coach, he developed practice plans and assisted in film breakdown and review. A 2014 graduate of Coastal Carolina with a degree in sport and fitness administration/management, he was a student intern for the football team for three seasons.
