Ronnie Baker

Ronnie Baker enters his first season on the Benedict College football coaching staff as linebackers coach.

Prior to coming to Benedict College, Coach Baker coached 13 years in high school as defensive coordinator at Baldwin County High School for 11 years and two years at Kendrick High School. He also coached collegiately at Albany State University for eight years, serving as defensive backs coach for six years and defensive coordinator for two seasons.

He also served as a Special Education teacher in the math department of Baldwin County and Muscogee County school districts.

Coach Baker obtained his Bachelors of Science degree with a major in sociology from the University of Phoenix.

A native of Columbus, Ga., he was a standout athlete at Kendrick High School, where he played football, basketball and track & field.

He and his wife, La’Kathy “Tina” Baker, have four children – Raven, Akera, Jalen and Branden.
