Rosco Byrd serves as the Offensive Line Coach. Born and raised in Albany, Ga., he attended Albany High School and accepted a football scholarship to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Byrd was a starter on the offensive line as a sophomore and junior. UAB ended is football program following the 2014 season and Byrd transferred to Georgia Southern University in the spring of 2014. He was a starter and was a member of the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl championship team, the first bowl win in school history. He then transferred back to UAB and graduated in 2017 with a degree in history.
He started his coaching career in 2017 Dougherty High School in Albany, Ga., while teaching middle school history at at Robert A. Cross Middle School. He spent the next three years coaching and teaching history at G.W. Carver High School in Columbus, Ga. In 2021, he served as offensive line coach at Savannah State University, where he helped guide the Tigers to an 8-2 record and over 2,100 rushing yards.
Byrd has a two-year-old daughter, Nala Byrd.
