ATLANTA, Ga. – Trevor Eichelberger scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Benedict College Tigers to a 73-55 victory over the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers on Monday night.

Marcus Goode added 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to 16-9 overall and 15-8 in the SIAC.

Benedict broke away from an 18-18 tie midway through the first half to take a 40-23 lead shortly before the half. The Tigers took a 40-26 lead at the break.

The Tigers continued to apply the pressure in the second half, increasing their lead to as much as 28 points, 65-37, on a layup by Cassius Bell with 11:03 to play.

The Tigers shot 42.1 percent, but held the Maroon Tigers to 32.1 percent. Benedict held a 47-34 rebounding edge.

Shawn Allen led Morehouse with 23 points, while Andrae Nelson added 18, but no other player had more than five points. Morehouse fell to 7-17 overall and 7-15 in the SIAC.

Benedict wraps up the regular season on Wednesday at home against LeMoyne-Owen. Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m.
