Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Benedict College volleyball team dropped the first set, but rallied to win the next three sets to defeat Paine College 3-1 in their SIAC opener on Tuesday night.

After losing the first set 25-18, Benedict won the next three, although all three were close, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Benedict struggled with its offense, hitting just .163 in the match and committing 22 attack errors. Lorena Leao led the offense with 10 kills, while LaTayvia Mack had nine. Ashley Jackson had 26 assists and 11 digs. Paine recorded 17.5 blocks.

The Lady Tigers improve to 3-2 overall, and 1-0 in the SIAC. Paine drops to 0-6 and 0-1 in the SIAC. Benedict is back on the court on Monday, traveling to face Spartanburg Methodist as a tune-up for the SIAC Crossover in Frankfurt, Ky., Sept. 20-22.
