Lady Tigers Win Two At Volleyball Crossover

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Benedict College volleyball team opened the SIAC Crossover Tournament with a pair of wins on Thursday at Kentucky State University.

In their opening match of the tournament, Benedict took a 3-1 victory over Stillman College. After dropping the first set 26-24, Benedict rallied to win 25-21, 25-22, 25-18.

LaTayvia Mack led the charge with 17 kills and also Lorena Leao scored nine kills. Terae Sweeting led with a .400 hitting percentage and Mack hit .387. Ashley Jackson recorded 29 assists and Courtney Bobo-McKenzie led the defense with eight digs.

In their second match of the day, Benedict defeated LeMoyne-Owen College in three sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-5.

Mack led the offense once again with 14 kills and a .565 hitting percentage. Jackson had 21 assists. Je'Nae Saunders led the defense with eight digs. Benedict had 12 service aces in the match.

Benedict continues the crossover with three matches on Friday. The Lady Tigers will face Tuskegee at 8 a.m., Miles at 2 p.m. and Kentucky State at 6 p.m.
