Tigers Roll Over Clark Atlanta, 86-59

Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers shot 62.5 percent and had four players in double figures to defeat Clark Atlanta University 86-59 in an SIAC men's college basketball game in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena on Saturday.

Lamar Adkins stepped in with 16 points and nine rebounds. Tydran Beaty also had 16 points. Xavier Collier had 14 points, while Rickie Jackson added 11.

Benedict improves to 18-6 overall and 14-2 in the SIAC.

Clark Atlanta falls to 4-18 overall and 3-11 in the SIAC. James Arnold led the Panthers with 19 points, while Kevin James had 15. The Panthers shot 39.7 percent for the game.

A 10-0 run early in the game put the Tigers ahead 15-4 with Beaty and Adkins leading the way. Benedict built the lead to as much as 23 points, 37-14, in the first half before taking a 41-21 lead at the half.

A steal by Beaty and the follow-up dunk by Adkins gave Benedict its biggest lead, 55-24, early in the second half.

Benedict shot a sizzling 76.9 percent in the second half, missing just six of their 26 shot attempts.

The Tigers host rival Claflin on Thursday in their final home game of the season.
