COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's tennis team took an 8-1 victory over Tuskegee on Friday in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tennis roundup.
The Tigers won all three doubles matches, and then claimed five singles victories. In one of the closest matches of the day, Benedict's
Shane Latchman defeated Tuskegee's Gabriel Byrd, 7-5, 7-5. At No. 5 singles,
Timothy Thornton won a tiebreaker to take a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 win over Joseph Messam.
The Tigers improved to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in the SIAC.
