Britenique Harrison had a double-double with 15 points and a season-high 12 rebounds to help lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to a 60-50 victory over Miles College in an SIAC women's basketball game on Monday night.
Kristine Lesane added 11 points for the Lady Tigers, who improved to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the SIAC.
Miles had as much as a six-point lead in the first half, 11-5. Miles led 25-23 with 4:57 left in the first half when Benedict outscored Miles 7-1 to end the half with a 30-26 lead.
The Lady Tigers scored five straight points for a 43-32 lead in the second half. After Miles cut the lead to 52-46 with 5:19 to play, the Lady Tigers scored six straight points for their largest lead, 58-46, with 4:01 left to play.
Benedict held Miles to just 29.6 percent shooting and the Lady Tigers held a 57-39 rebounding advantage.
Benedict returns home for a conference game against Kentucky State University on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
