COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers won their fifth straight game with a 55-53 victory over Albany State University on Thursday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

Dorothy Brown had 12 points, as she connected on three 3-pointers, while
Kristine Lesane had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Benedict improved to 12-4 overall and 7-1 in the SIAC. Albany State fell to 6-9 overall and 5-3 in the SIAC.

Benedict had a 23-22 lead at the half, but built a 10-point lead, 44-34, midway through the second half. A layup by
Britenique Harrison gave the Lady Tigers a 48-38 lead with 5:59 left to play. A 3-pointer by Brown gave Benedict a 55-46 lead with 2:41 left to play, but the Lady Tigers were held scoreless the rest of the way.

Albany State's Zuri Frost hit a layup with 16 seconds left to cut the lead to 55-53. A Benedict turnover gave the ball back to the Lady Golden Rams, but Kyasha Wilson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Benedict is back in action on Saturday, when the Lady Tigers host Fort Valley State at 1 p.m.
