ATLANTA – Junior guard
Brennan Reynard scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds to lead the Benedict College Tigers to a 86-67 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Thursday night.
The Tigers (10-7, 8-4 SIAC) won their fourth straight game.
Deonte Johnson added 16 points, while
Andrew Crawford had 12 points and
Allen Elmore chipped in 11 points.
Benedict shot 52.3 percent for the game, and held the Panthers to 32.8 percent from the floor.
Clark Atlanta opened the game by scoring the first six points, but Benedict stormed back and scored the next seven points to regain the lead and led the rest of the way. Benedict led 12-11 with 13:12 left in the first half, but then outscored the Panthers 41-16 to take a 53-27 lead at the half. Benedict led by at least 17 points, and as much as 25 points, in the second half.
Benedict returns home on Saturday, taking on Paine at 3 p.m. Paine leads the SIAC East Divison with a 14-4 overall record and 10-1 in the SIAC.
