COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Destiny Betts had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to an 84-55 victory over Tuskegee on Monday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Playing a winless team for the second game in a row, the Lady Tigers jumped out to a double-digit lead five minutes into the contest and pushed the lead to 31 points at the half, 51-20.
Benedict led by as much as 36 points on two occasions in the second half.
The Lady Tigers improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the SIAC. Tuskegee fell to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC.
Kari Jones added 12 points and
Dorothy Brown and
London Richardson added 11 points each.
Benedict dominated on the boards, holding a 50-23 rebounding advantage. Benedict held Tuskegee to 25.8 percent shooting in the first half and 38.2 percent for the game.
Benedict hits the road for its next three games, starting with LeMoyne-Owen on Thursday.
