JACKSON, Tenn. – The 25
th-ranked Benedict College Lady Tigers held Lane College to just two field goals in the second half and went on to take a 62-33 SIAC victory on Saturday.
Benedict broke away from a 26-19 halftime score by outscoring the Lady Dragons 36-14 in the second half. The Lady Tigers improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the SIAC. Lane fell to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in the SIAC.
Regime McCombs led the Lady Tigers with 17 points, while
Dorothy Brown added 10 points.
Terri Jacobs led the team with eight rebounds.
Benedict scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to build a 48-28 lead. The Lady Tigers closed out the game with a 12-2 run.
Lane shot just 2-for-22 from the floor in the second half. Benedict shot 52 percent in the second half and 44.9 percent for the game.
Benedict continues its road trip with a game at Kentucky State on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
