COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Kristine Lesane scored a season-high 26 points to help lead the Benedict College women's basketball team to a 75-56 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Britenique Harrison had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Tigers improved to 18-5 overall and 13-2 in the SIAC.
Mykala Jones had 19 points for Clark Atlanta (8-14, 4-11 SIAC).
Benedict had a 40-34 lead at the half, then opened the second half with back-to-back layups by
Dorothy Brown and
Destiny Betts for a 10-point lead. The Lady Tigers built their largest lead at 69-45 after a pair of free throws by Betts.
Benedict held Clark Atlanta to just 29 percent shooting, including 25.8 percent in the second half. Benedict had a 49-31 rebounding advantage.
Benedict is back in action on Thursday, hosting rival Claflin College at 5:30 p.m.
