COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's basketball team had season-highs in points and 3-pointers in the Tigers' final home game of the 2014-15 season in a 98-61 victory over Barber-Scotia College on Wednesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Andrew Crawford hit nine 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points for the Tigers, now 15-11.
Kel Robin scored a career-high 23 points. As a team, Benedict made 14 3-pointers on 29 attempts, both season highs.
The Tigers used the game as a warm-up for next week's SIAC Tournament, and rested several of their key players and the reserves got some key playing time.
Benedict jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back. Benedict led by as much as 27 points in the first half and took a 48-25 lead at the break. Benedict grew the lead to 31 points, 66-35, on a 3-pointer by Robin with 12:17 left to play. Benedict had its largest lead, 97-53, with 1:42 left on the clock.
Barber-Scotia (5-22), with just seven players suited for the game, was led by ShaQuille Wilson with 20 points.
Benedict will take on Kentucky State in the first round of the SIAC tournament on Monday at 3:15 Central Time.
