FORT VALLEY, Ga. – 
Jordan Smith scored a season-high 20 points, making five 3-pointers, to help lead the Benedict College Tigers to a 71-58 victory over Fort Valley State on Monday night in a men's SIAC basketball game.
Andrew Crawford added 12 points, and 
Deonte Johnson had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to 13-8 overall and 11-4 in the SIAC. Fort Valley State fell to 2-20 overall and 2-13 in the SIAC.
Ralph Wilson and Derrick Spear led Fort Valley State with 12 points each. Wilson also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Fort Valley State scored the first eight points of the game, but Benedict came back to take the lead on a jumper by 
Auntrell Holloway, 16-14, and the Tigers never trailed again. Benedict held a 29-20 lead at the break.
Benedict led by as many as 19 points in the second half.
The Tigers return home to take on Morehouse College on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
