MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Benedict College men's tennis team went 6-0 at the second SIAC Tennis Roundup to remain unbeaten in conference action.
The Tigers defeated Morehosue, 5-0; LeMoyne-Owen, 6-0; Fort Valley State, 6-0; Spring Hill, 6-2, Tuskegee, 6-1; and Stillman, 7-2.
The Tigers improve to 12-6 overall and 10-0 in the SIAC.
Benedict's No. 1 singles player, Tukudzwa Muswere, improved to 7-0 in conference play and 11-5 overall. At the No. 3 position, senior
Shane Latchman improved to 9-0 in conference play and 11-4 overall. At No. 2 singles, Zibusiso Ndimane moved to 6-1 against conference opponents, and now has a 8-2 record in doubles with partner Latchman.
Justin Payton and Muswere now have an 8-1 conference and 11-6 overall doubles record. Payton also has a 4-1 singles conference record.
Juan Hernandez and Malek Selmen are now 9-1 at No. 3 doubles in conference play.
The Tigers will wrap up the regular season against Shaw University on Tuesday, which will be Senior Day. The Tigers will recognize their one senior, Latchman.
