COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team picked up a hard-fought victory at No. 1 doubles to defeat Shaw University 5-4 on Tuesday in their final regular-season match of the season.
Benedict picked up default victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles against the short-handed Lady Bears.

Daniella Rios teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Shaw's top team of Gislanie Farias and Marilyne Kamegne, 8-5. Benedict's No. 1 singles player
Karla Flores picked up a victory when Shaw's Ana Ruzir pulled out with an injury. Benedict's
Juliet Campbell clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
Benedict improves to 13-7 on the season. Shaw drops to 12-3.
Shaw won the men's match 6-3.
The Tigers took default wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Takudswa Muswere took a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Shaw's Gafur Sirojiddinov at the No. 1 singles match.
The Tigers fall to 12-7 overall, while Shaw improves to 8-3.
Benedict is back in action at the 2015 SIAC Tennis Championship, which will be played at the Columbia Tennis Center and hosted by Benedict College. The semifinals will be played Friday, April 10, with the championship match on Saturday, April 11.
