ATLANTA – The Benedict College baseball team took a pair of games from Clark Atlanta University, stretching their winning streak to eight games and giving head coach
Selwyn Young his 150
th victory as coach of the Tigers.
Benedict won the first game, 9-4, as
Kevin Davis had a two-run double and stole six bases, while
Mitchell Dixon had a solo home run in the seventh inning. Benedict had 13 stolen bases total.
Robert Troiano III picked up the win on the mound.
The Tigers won the second game 3-0 as
Yaniel Delgado pitched a complete game shutout. He gave up just four hits and struck out nine. The Tigers scored two runs on a single by
Armando Valentin.
Benedict (20-14 overall, 11-4 SIAC) and Clark Atlanta (1-26, 1-15) play the third game of the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
