ATLANTA – The 13
th-ranked Benedict College Lady Tigers held Clark Atlanta without a field goal in the first quarter and went on to win their 15
th straight game with a dominating 77-48 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Thursday night.
Regime McCombs led the Lady Tigers, now 20-1 overall and 10-1 in the SIAC, with 21 points, hitting six 3-pointers.
Sarah Green scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, both season highs.
Clark Atlanta fell to 6-14 overall and 4-6 in the SIAC. Nekia Sockwell and Mykala Jones scored 10 points each for the Lady Panthers.
Benedict jumped out to a 22-9 lead in the first quarter, as Clark Atlanta was 0-for-11 from the floor in the first 10 minutes. Benedict pushed the lead to 39-20 at the half. Benedict held as much as a 32-point lead in the third quarter.
The Lady Tigers held Clark Atlanta to 21.7 percent shooting for the game (13-of-60), while shooting 36.8 percent. Benedict outrebounded Clark Atlanta 62-43.
Destiny Betts led Benedict with 11 rebounds.
Benedict is back in action on Saturday, traveling to face rival Claflin in Orangeburg. Gametime is 6 p.m.
