AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Benedict College men's and women's tennis teams opened the 2016 spring schedule by traveling to Augusta to take on the Augusta Jaguars. Augusta swept the matches, winning 8-1 in the women's match and 9-0 in the men's match.
 
Benedict's only win on the day was at the women's No. 1 position, where Karla Flores defeated Augusta's Brooke Durden 6-1, 3-6, 10-4.
 
Augusta won all three doubles matches and won the other five singles matches.
 
Benedict dropped to 0-2 overall on the season, including a loss to Newberry in their only fall match.
 
Augusta swept the men's match 9-0. Benedict fell to 0-2 overall.
 
Benedict will play its home opener on Saturday. The women will take on Converse College at 1 p.m, while the men will face Spartanburg Methodist at 11 a.m.
