FORT VALLEY, Ga. –
MiKeisha Moore came off the bench to score 26 points to lead the Benedict College women's basketball team to a 93-75 victory over Miles College in the Jessie A. Brown Memorial Classic tournament hosted by Fort Valley State University.
The Lady Tigers improved to 2-3 on the season, while handing Miles College (3-1) its first loss of the season.
Benedict jumped out to a 47-32 lead at the half after leading by as many as 22 points, 43-21, in the second quarter.
Zairra Harris added 24 points for Benedict, while
Shirvel Luke had 14 points.
Destiny Betts had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Benedict shot 55.7 percent, while holding Miles to 30.8 percent shooting.
The Lady Tigers will take on host Fort Valley State in a non-conference contest on Saturday at 3 p.m. Fort Valley State will provide a live video and live stats.
