COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Destiny Betts scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds to lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to a 93-79 victory over Central State University in a SIAC women's basketball game Thursday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
MiKeisha Moore added 21 points, hitting six 3-pointers, and
Zairra Harris added 18 points.
The Lady Tigers improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the SIAC. Central State fell to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the SIAC.
Benedict dominated the boards, outrebounding Central State 53-28.
Sierra Harley led Central State with 22 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Tigers built a 78-66 lead with 6:23 left in the fourth quarter when the Lady Marauders went on a late run, cutting the lead to 80-79 on a layup by Jasmin Dancy, but Benedict scored the final 13 points of the game for the victory.
Benedict is back in action on Saturday, hosting Kentucky State at 1 p.m.
