JONESBORO, Ga. – The Benedict College men's tennis team only needed to win two matches to advance to the SIAC Men's Tennis Championship by defeating Tuskegee University 5-0 in the semifinals on Friday at the Clayton County Tennis Complex.
Benedict's No. 1 singles team of
Nathanial Pinkney and
Quentin Eloise defeated Tuskegee's top team of Oshane Trail and Brandon Sewell 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, Benedict's
Takudswa Muswere and
Zibusiso Ndimande beat Reggie Richardson and Jalen Law 8-2. Tuskegee defaulted the No. 3 doubles position, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
The shorthanded Tuskegee roster defaulted at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, giving the Tigers the 5-0 win.
Benedict, the defending SIAC men's tennis champion, advances to the championship match to face Morehouse College on Saturday at noon. Morehouse defeated Stillman 5-2 in the other men's semifinal match.
