COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's volleyball team lost their home opener to North Greenville University on Monday night, 3-1.
After dropping the first set 25-13, Benedict scored the final three points in the second set to pull off a 28-26 victory. North Greenville jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the third set and cruised to a 25-10 win. The Crusaders clinched the match by pulling away at the end of the fourth match for a 25-20 victory.
Benedict falls to 2-3 on the season. North Greenville improves to 9-3 overall.
V'Aira Harris led Benedict with 13 kills, while also adding 13 assists for the double-double.
Arneshia Parrish added nine kills.
Aaliyah Lawson had a team-high 16 assists.
Majda Cisic had 18 digs.
Benedict travels to compete in the SIAC Crossover Tournament in Albany, Ga., beginning on Thursday.
